WE GOT HIS BACK! Our First Success...LITTLE FREDDIE KING
Little Freddie taught himself how to play guitar and developed a country style of blues he calls "Gut Bucket Blues." At age 17, Freddie moved to New Orleans and eventually became a charter member of and an annual attraction at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. In 1976 he toured Europe with Bo Diddley, Texas Alexander and John Lee Hooker, but his most amazing gig occurred in 1981, when he embarked on a six-month tour of the western states, where he hosted workshops on the blues. His 1970 recording titled "Harmonica Williams and Little Freddie King" is believed to be the first electric blues album recorded in New Orleans.
When we heard Little Freddie had lost his Gibson guitar in Hurricane Katrina, we harnessed the We Got Your Back network of musical supporters and got a free replacement guitar from Gibson Guitars.
